Venus retrograde
About every eighteen months, for roughly six weeks.
Venus is the rarest of these three retrogrades and the one people take most personally. It covers what you value and who you are drawn to: relationships, money, taste, the things you have decided are worth your time. A retrograde Venus does not end any of that. It reopens the question of whether you still mean it.
What helps
- Revisit a friendship you let go quiet.
- Look honestly at what you are actually paying for each month.
- Finish creative work you abandoned rather than starting something new.
- Notice which relationships you are keeping up out of habit.
- Let an old attraction resurface without acting on it straight away.
What to hold off on
- Big cosmetic changes you cannot undo.
- Expensive purchases made for how they will look to other people.
- Defining a new relationship while you are still reassessing the last one.
- Renegotiating your pay or your rates.
- Deciding that a quiet patch means a relationship is over.
When it turns direct
Whatever surfaced during the retrograde is usually the real material. By the time Venus turns direct you generally know which of it you want to keep.
Retrograde motion is apparent, not actual. No planet reverses course. It is the view from a moving Earth, and it is that shift in perspective the tradition reads.
